How I spent 24 hours in Doha

Titled as world's richest country consecutively for three years ( 2010-2012 ), Qatar has been a precious nation for Pearl hunting, its fishing spots, falcon markets and natural oil production.
When I got to know about this travel plan of 24 hrs, 48 hrs and 72 hrs stay in Qatar; that could cover the country's major-known spots, I looked forward towards planning one. We planned a one day and one night stay in Doha (Traveling details will be put up at the end of this post). For the travel, We got a package stay by Qatar Airways.

(The package gave us; A comforting air ride, yummy food, luxurious rooms & mainly The Best 'Hospitality' that I've received from any other airline).

Once we reached Qatar, we were guided towards our lounge. It was Mid noon already so without wasting time we left our belongings there and entered the city (Doha). My first visit in the city was to Souq Waqif. This market had infinite shops displaying about 100 different species of tea and oodh. It smelled sooo good there....
There is a giant golden thumb statue placed in the middle of the Souq, that's historically believed to be placed in memory of winning a football league.
We then visited the Doha Corniche. It was a pleasant moment there, enjoying the sunny coast, watching old boats sailing, that amazing skyline and that beautiful scenery. Coming on the way back to the lounge, we visited the National Museum of Qatar. It's architecture is marvellous. Their display of precious cultural accessories is worth a stare!
We didn't have much time to travel the rest of Qatar, so we headed back to our lounge. It was supper time when we reached there, so we walked towards the dinning hall. This hall had about 500 buffets containing versatile dishes from around the world. I remember saying my Dad that " I'd love to spend the rest of my life in this dining hall.":)))
We ended our day there!
The next day, we got ourselves ready for our flight... And that wraps up my Qatar Tour.

What was the package of Qatar Airways that you chose?
My package included an air ride from Karnataka (India) to Muscat (Oman) via Doha (Qatar). We had to stay in Qatar for a day to finally reach Oman. I recommend you to travel with Qatar Airways, As my experience with them was super comfy and luxurious!.

Is the country religious like other gulf countries e.g. Saudi Arabia, Iran, etc?
I would say 'Yes', we are recommended to wear fully covered clothing outside... As an Islamic country; Alcohol and alcoholic beverages are strictly forbidden in the country.
